Found this on Reddit. I like slow cooker recipe. Pork shoulder is ideal for a slow cooker, and apples and onions are great with pork.
I usually don't trust random recipes I run across on the internet but treally - throw pork in a slow cooker with some flavor ingredients for six or eight hours and it really can't be a failure. At worse you may not like the flavoring. However, this is a rough recipe so some on-the-fly modifications are needed. For example it calls for a beef bouillon cube which I don't keep around, so I'd use the beef broth concentrate that I like. I also question the sauerkraut, which seems out of character with the rest of the ingredients.
Ingredients
1 Pork shoulder
2 Granny smith apples, peeled and cut into slices
2 Onions, sliced
2 Garlic cloves minced
1/2 Cup white wine
1 Jar of sauerkraut
1/2 to 1 cup BBQ sauce
1 Beef bouillon cube
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Add about a tablespoon of oil to a large frypan and sear the pork shoulder all over. Remove to slow cooker and add onions to pan. Fry onions until lightly browned and caramelized. Add garlic and fry for a minute or two until fragrant.
2. Dump onions and garlic over the pork in the slow cooker. Deglaze the frypan with white wine and pour over the pork. Add all remaining ingredients and roll the pork shoulder around to coat it.
3. Cook on high for 4 - 6 hours or low for 8 - 10 hours.
4. Shred the pork shoulder and serve.
