Ingredients
2/3 cup heavy cream
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup sugar
2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
2/3 cup dark chocolate chips
For the glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375F.
1. In a small bowl, combine cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
2. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter with a pastry cutter or two knives until the size of small peas. Stir in the chocolate chips.
3. Stir in the cream mixture. The dough will be fairly dry. Turn out onto flat surface and knead until it combines.
4. Form dough into shape of square about 6 - 8 inches. Cut the square diagonally into four pieces, and then cut each piece in half. Bake for 20 minutes at 375F. Remove to wire rack.
6. For the glaze, combine powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and milk in a small bowl. Drizzle over the scones.
